Listening to THE HONEYBEE EMERALDS Playlist!
I’m dedicating March to revisiting my debut novel, which came out March 2022. The Honeybee Emeralds is a story of female friendship, history, mystery, romance.
Back in 2022, in my enthusiasm and delight about actually getting a book flipping published I created a Spotify Playlist. Don’t have Spotify? Here’s the Google Doc of all the songs!
Want to pretend to be moodily walking the streets of Paris, mourning the death of your beloved consumptive prostitute girlfriend while contemplating the meaning of life and smoking Gitanes? Listen to this playlist!!
Want to hear Josephine Baker sing about how much she loves France, after experiencing the profound racism of segregationist America? Listen to this playlist!
Maybe you enjoy Fred Astaire perving on a young Audrey Hepburn — no judgment (a little bit of judgment!) It’s here!
You want Jacques Brel to growl at you? WHO DOESN’T?!
You want some Piaf? This list has her two biggest bangers plus more! Also, Abba, Eartha Kitt and Jimmy fudging Buffett!
Amy, I need songs accompanied by accordion, does this list have any of that? You better believe it does. Close your eyes and you’ll be walking along the Seine, a beret perched jauntily on your head, a buttery croissant filling your mouth and you’ll be holding the hand of someone who loves you very much. This is a playlist guarantee!
If you want to revisit the old archives (and who wouldn’t??) I wrote about this playlist before…
It’s a good playlist, give it a listen!

HONOR THE DEAD is coming out in just over a month! I am very excited about this murder mystery, which is set in my beloved Eastern Townships of Quebec.
I was just there and I took this photograph of a creepy old cemetery filled with the bones of the MURDERED (or at least dead farmers)…
Read my murdery-book set in the Townships! You’ll like it - I promise!
Book Launch
My actual, in-person launch is on April 25th. Let me know if you want to come and I’ll send you an invite (amytectorwrites@gmail.com)
Octopus Books - The Lady is a Sleuth
If you can’t make the book launch, come to a very fun event at Octopus Books the following week where I am teaming up with fellow Ottawa mystery writer, Katie Tallo.
Calling all crime lovers! Join Octopus Books for a discussion of strong female leads in mystery novels with two local women authors. Celebrate the launch of Honor the Dead by Amy Tector, the latest entry in the Dominion Archives Mysteries series which includes The Foulest Things and Speak for the Dead. Amy will be joined by fellow Ottawa mystery writer Katie Tallo, author of the international bestselling Dark August and its sequel, Poison Lilies.
