We Did It!
A Christmas love story featuring a plucky florist and a tall dark and handsome entrepreneur
Thanks so much for your interest and support!
I 100% didn’t know what I was doing when I decided to repackage a love story I had written 25 years ago (eep— passage of time, inexorable creep of death, aging bodies) and publish it on Substack as a Christmas Holiday Advent Serialised Instalment Thing (seriously, I don’t know how to describe this — if you have ideas, please, please PLEASE leave me a comment!)
I think it worked out well. Over 250 of you signed up and we averaged a 70% open rate — I have heard that a 30% open rate is excellent, so you guys were ENGAGED.
If you had a good time here, please stay subscribed to my regular newsletter — Méli-Mélo and if I decide to do another serialised thing, or just share some of my fiction writing, I’ll use “Snowdrop Kisses” and this mailing list as the vehicle.
What else? Well, if you liked this and think someone else would like it, feel free to share it. They won’t get the experience of receiving an instalment every day, but they can just read Chapter One and click through to each new instalment on the handy “Next Instalment” buttons I’ve popped in at the end of each post.
If you’d like me to do something like this again — either a romance or a mystery — let me know that too. Also, if you would like a sequel — maybe Catriona and Isaac or Minna or Harry or even a romance for Minna’s vlogger nephew, who I introduced once but then didn’t have the energy to incorporate more fulsomely.
Finally, if you want to support me there are two ways. One is to buy any (Or all!) of my books — I have one lighthearted mystery/romance/friendship story set in Paris involving a lost necklace, Josephine Baker and lots of patisserie and three books forming the Dominion Archives Mystery series - murder and mayhem in the vaults!
The other way to support me is just to spread the word about this or any of my writing — tell a friend, post about it on social media, rate me on your favourite platform, leave a review or ask your library to order one of my books. All those things are massively helpful!
Okay that’s it for me …. except — keep an eye on your inbox in the next few days because I think I will send you one more bonus-y thing — a sneak peak at my latest novel which is —gasp! — another Christmas romance… this one set at a high end luxury spa. La la!
P.S. If you do mention me on social media (and it’s nice!) please tag me!

Did you enjoy this?
I’ve written a book you might get a kick out of! THE HONEYBEE EMERALDS is a lighthearted mystery set in Paris featuring four women uncovering the secrets of a beautiful diamond and emerald necklace. A finalist for the Indy Book Awards “Best First Novel,” it’s been called a “Gem of a debut.”
